Project Engineering Manager.

My client is a global leader in the production of chemicals for a variety of market applications including textile, paper, plastics, wood and polymers. They have multiple state-of-the-art R&D, Applications and Production facilities worldwide. The role of Project Engineering Manager is to work on specific and defined projects to execute the EPCM strategy, ensuring compliance and all project activities are completed, based on the approved schedules and budget.

The main aim of the position is to effectively manage all relevant engineering CAPEX projects and ensure execution of projects within costs, budgets ad timescales. You will also be involved in supervising engineering works and new installations on the plant site.

The ideal candidate should have an entrepreneurial and “hands on” mentality, great communicator and highly adaptable to the company culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating and participating in the budget investment plan, as well as execution once approved by the Group and supervising works and new installations.
  • Organising tasks after project approval to be performed in a timetable to reflect the specific work schedules of each team and taking account of workflows.
  • Maintaining constant communication with work teams and frequently verifying to monitor progress
  • Establishing goals with detailed timelines and actions, to monitor progress and meet deadlines.
  • Ensuring compliance with current regulations during the project, and responsibility for building permits and civil works projects with the various official bodies, at the Plant site.
  • Guaranteeing updates and management of the P&IDs and Layouts of the plant facilities according to the established standards.
  • Communicating effectively and giving constant update on the progress of the projects and if there are any issues or risks
  • Ensuring compliance with Safety, Hygiene and Environment norms at the Plant site.

Requirements:

  • Industrial /chemical engineering qualifications or similar
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in Project Engineering Management
  • Experienced working on major CAPEX EPCM projects
  • Track record in delivering projects on time and within budget, quality and safety
  • Fluent in English & Spanish
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
