Technical Sales - Mining Software.

Charlton Morris have partnered with a global mining software company, who create next-generation technology solutions for the entire mining lifecycle. Due to rapid growth in recent years, my client has created a brand-new opening for a fast-paced Technical Sales Specialist to cope with the ever-growing demand.

As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will work alongside the Regional Manager and Pre-Sales Team to qualify and close sales across South Africa. You will also be responsible for technical software demonstrations, provide technical support to customers in the region and account management of clients both on a technical and commercial level.

This position is an all-encompassing busy role where no two days will be the same, further to the above you will also be responsible for:

  • Owning and managing an active sales pipeline, including identifying new areas of business whilst maintaining communication with existing customers.
  • Act as the central coordinator of sales proposals and assist in qualifying potential projects and bid management.
  • Lead tradeshows to promote business values and products and deliver live/remote demonstrations.
  • Achieve revenue targets set by the Regional Manager

The ideal candidate will have a technical background in mining or software and previous exposure to the software sales process, as well as the following skills and attributes:

  • A minimum of 4 years within the mining industry, preferably working with mining software (mine planning, fleet management, safety etc)
  • Knowledge of mining operation processes and the applicability of Mine Control/Fleet Management technology.
  • Strong IT skills related to SQL databases, network infrastructure, IIS.
  • An engineering or software development qualification would be desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of and experience in developing sales strategies.
  • A commercial mindset, focused on achieving measurable outcomes for the customer.
